such an excellent work on your animations! can i say something about it? lets say fighting in your animations for example it looks great! let me just say. at the same time its kinda stiff and short you know? i get it you were VERY busy and all but for next time if your gonna do stuff like sword fighting in future animations try using stuff like this as a reference……………………

notice the movement of the characters, the way you act and maintain the expressions on their facial expressions too. and don't be afraid to get fancy with it you know? XD and again its just an example. your very good at lighting and fire animations as well as character acting. and hey look its just constructive feedback. just some advice is all. its up to you to take it or not. at the end of the day your animations are fantastic! keep working hard okay?

Ah. Thanks for commenting.

Believe me, I'm hyper aware of Yutaka Nakamura's work. Well before Sakugabooru existed. Haha.

It has taken him the better part of 20 years to get to where he is. I'll get there eventually. Don't plan on giving up just yet.

The work I did for 1000 was the very first time I tried a fight like that so it was a good learning experience. As long as I stay in the game then I guarantee you I'll improve.

Dynamic motion of that type is definitely something I can and will improve at. It wasn't that long ago that I was bad at animating fire, for example. :XD:

It's good that you want to see me improve. It will happen.

Hi Um....about the comment i made. look if i really did come off a little rude I'm sorry. Who am i to give advice and feedback to amazing animators like you when i haven't down animation myself. i really wanna do animation. Sakuga animation like Yutaka Nakamura and like you. yeah it talked a lot of work but hey look at my artwork (id offer you a bucket in case you wanna puke your guts out) I've been drawing for over 5-6 years i can give it my all if i start animating from now.

but I'm kinda in a labtop isn't the best and its getting old really. getting flash animate might be a bad idea but i really wan a start. and plus when i do start where do i start from scratch? how do i start from scratch. i wanna learn the basics but i wanna do animating fight scenes you know? I LOVE sword fighting and i want my animations to be about that you know?

There are plenty of resources available.

For software, Studio Ghibli's version of OpenToonz is available for free. There are also low CPU alternatives like Pencil2D and FlipNote for practice.

For technique, Richard Williams' Animator's Survival Kit is bar none one of the best resources for learning timing and the importance of draftsmanship. There are also a whole mess of tutorials available on Youtube.

You can always drop into my Wednesday streams on Twitch and ask questions. I'll gladly answer them there, as well.

You're going to have to work your tail off if you want to stand with sakuga greats like Yutaka Nakamura, Yoh Yoshinari, and Yoshimichi Kameda. Start by animating little things that you think are cool. From there you'll be inclined to learn the stuff that you're lacking at because it will improve your animation.

Quite frankly, it'll take you at least 10 years to become a decent 2D animator from scratch. There aren't many shortcuts. If you stick it out and apply yourself as much as possible then you'll be able to turn heads.

From there the sky is the limit.

(Also, the animation world is small so do be careful how and where you approach animators. Word travels fast if you're all-talk-and-no-show.)

Thank you Thank you Thank you^^ I'm sorry i sound so needy its just. Finally came to a realization to start now with my own animations you know?

and ill do my best to attend your streams one day^^

Yes i know nothing's ever easy but i do wanna know how to do "Sakuga" animations like you and those other amazing professionals. I'll work hard you'll see~

Ill work hard in 5 years! ill work very VERY hard! I should have started when i was 15 or 16 but ill start now^^ I feel great^^ Motivated!

(Yeah I've seen interviews on how animators struggle to make good pay...its a stretch but i wanna open my own animation studio to help animators in need and without pushing them too hard, to make them amazing animators and enjoy their job^^ again its a stretch but i wanna help)

I'd like ask you for help with one thing, but I'll tell you everything more on note. Do you agree for it?

Hm? What is it that you'd like help with? If it's something super-involved then there won't be much that I can do for you.

Feel free to send the note, anyway.

Your works are really good! My request is that I would like to see your attempt on drawing Final Fantasy 7. Is that ok with you?

Thanks! I'm personally more into Zelda than Final Fantasy, but Cloud is definitely a character that I'd like to do something with in the future.

There's nothing I can promise. If I'm able then I'll do so. If not then at least your request was heard. :XD:
