It's an oxymoron of the art terms avant-garde and kitsch. There's no formal definition for Avant-Kitsch since… well, I kind of just made it up the other day XDThe definitions of avant-garde and kitsch are both hotly debated, but in general, avant-garde is considered to be high quality art with revolutionary concepts that rebels against existing art forms.For example Pablo Picaso's cubist paintings would be considered Avant Garde for his time.Kitsch, on the other hand is used for art of low taste that usually uses a formula to appeal to existing sentimentality for commercial purposes.
