2-shot clip

Keyframes by::iconthatld: :iconjeffreylai:

This is a little scene from the 1000 teaser that I worked on with ~greenestreet and *jeffreylai of Secret Sauce Studio.

If you for some reason haven't heard about 1000 and its Kickstarter then ABSOLUTELY click on the link below:

[ 1000: The Animated Micro-series Kickstarter ]

The first shot with the fighting is drawn, inked, cleaned-up, composited, and colored by me (with a color assist on the tattoos by :icongreenestreet:).

The second shot with the guy falling to the floor was keyframed by :iconjeffreylai: and corrected, cleaned-up, inked, colored, and composited by me.

All the work was done in Photoshop and After Effects.

Please share the Kickstarter if you find what we're doing even remotely interesting. It helps more than you know.

NOTE: I'm aware that there's no blood flying out of the Zaci Bro's mouth in the second shot. This clip was done months ago and doesn't represent the final version we have on file. That has been fixed already.

This is 99% perfect. The ONLY thing that looks a little weird is the way the old man flops to the ground. Its really quick compared to the rest of the movements that was going on. But this is seriously frekin amazing looking.

Mostly Photoshop & After Effects. All the drawing was done digitally in Photoshop for this scene. :nod:

Ah. I was just wondering if there's any way to shade in abode flash?
Just doing some rookie animating...^^;

There is, but Flash isn't the most reliable software when it comes to getting finished drawings to turn out exactly how you want them. You'll really have to work at it and fight with the software to get nice shading and drawings.

Haha. All it takes is patience and the willingness to fix mistakes.

If you can hang in there long enough then the animation will work out.

For this? Not yet.

We're working to make it happen. 1000 would work perfectly as a short series. :nod:

when loading you can see the punch perfectly! but in full speed animation the punch is not so appreciated as before!! you should add a lighting effect or make it notice more because the color of the background and the color of the sleeves are almost the same!.. and I can't think of anything else to hate on... this is so awesome and very professional like!.. keep up the great work!!!

That part is done in After Effects. It's as simple as keyframing the "position" property and moving things around accordingly. :nod:

Timing is what makes it work.

This is brilliant... are there just key frames? It looks stunningly smooth and theatrical even without inbetween-ing!
I wish you guys all the luck, though you probably won't need it! :)

Yeah, these are mostly the keys, as we animated at 12fps.

The first shot has a couple of holds, but the moving background hides them pretty well (since it moves at 24fps).

Haha! We're making our own luck on this one! Thanks! :D

Thanks for pointing that out. I've already answered it before earlier in the comments. :nod:

This clip was done months ago and doesn't quite represent the final version we have in the teaser. There are other things missing in the shots that you wouldn't notice unless you saw the final ones. One thing in particular is a table in the final version that isn't seen anywhere here.

Regardless, good eye for noticing it! :thumbsup:

Are you guys planning to make this a series on television? If so, that makes it even more awesome, because most cartoons I see are either for kids or comedies. This would be an interesting change of pace. :)

I love the lighting in the background! :iconiloveitplz:

Well, we've got a really good chance of getting on TV if we're fully-funded. A major network approached us about that very thing. We just need the budget to make the animation happen!

Thanks! :iconminilarryplz:
